Jacob Madsen is a career coach for Northwestern's Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability (MSES) Program.
Jacob is the Senior Director, Climate Solutions at Persefoni. He has more than 25 years of experience in developing and leading sustainability programs in industry and as a consultant. He was hired as Persefoni’s first Climate Solutions Expert to support software development and sales. In his current role he works with customers to identify and solve their carbon management and accounting challenges so they can meet their mandatory and voluntary external reporting requirements and set them up for impactful and achievable decarbonization strategies.
Prior to joining Persefoni, Jacob was the Global Director of Sustainability at SC Johnson helping set the company’s industry-leading agenda on carbon, energy, water and waste management, product sustainability and green chemistry; Before joining SC Johnson, Jacob worked at Deloitte Consulting, managing sustainability challenges for high-profile clients in consumer products, retail and other industries. He was also a senior consultant with ERM in Oxford UK and Chicago and an LCA specialist with PRe Consultants in the Netherlands. Jacob earned his master’s degree in environmental engineering from Aalborg University in Denmark.
