Chris Moscardelli is an adjunct professor within Northwestern's Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability (MSES) Program.

Chris is currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the SOO Green HVDC Link Project. SOO Green will be a 2100MW capacity high voltage direct current (HVDC) underground transmission line able to move renewable energy into Illinois and eastern power markets from Iowa and neighboring states. SOO Green is an innovative solution to facilitating the achievement of the goals established by the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), a decarbonization law enacted in Illinois in 2021. Chris manages the procurement of renewable energy generation and is responsible for all aspects of the financing of the Project. In addition to leading the financial-related aspects of the Project development, Chris also spearheads the Company’s commercialization strategy.

Chris has over 30 years of experience in the design, development, and financing of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. He started his career as a Civil Engineer working on the design and implementation of several traditional infrastructure projects. Since then, Chris has worked for financial institutions focused on project financings and private placements for projects in the energy sector, including power, transmission, renewable energy, storage, and oil and gas projects. He has worked with a wide variety of clients focused on energy project development, from large corporations to small developers, to assist in the development, financing and construction of critical energy infrastructure. Chris has originated and executed several large project finance transactions throughout the Americas and his advisory work covered a wide range of services, including general project development strategy, equity and debt raising throughout the capital stack, and contract structuring and negotiations.

A registered professional engineer in the state of Massachusetts, Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Columbia Business School.
