NU for Life

The Northwestern athletic department has created a new program called NU For Life, which aims to assist student-athletes with the transition to professional careers. Board of Trustees member David Kabiller (WCAS85, KSM87), a former tennis player at Northwestern and founding principal at the capital management firm AQR, is the donor for the program. “Student-athletes have developed a skill set highlighted by leadership, teamwork and the ability to multitask, and that’s attractive to employers,” said Julie Dunn (GSESP09), assistant athletic director of career enhancement and employer relations. “It’s a skill set that’s easy to sell.” Resources for student-athletes through NU for Life will provide specific programming for each class, including freshmen seminars, a mentor partnership with a former Northwestern student-athlete, the Wildcat Professional Excellence Program and employer outreach opportunities. This is the first program of its kind in the Big Ten.
