Recent renovations and construction on the Evanston campus:
- Technological Institute — The University completed a $125 million renovation in 1999.
- Center for Nanofabrication and Molecular Self-Assembly — The $32 million facility, which opened in 2002, houses scientists and engineers dedicated to the pursuit of new technologies, many with medical applications.
- Arthur and Gladys Pancoe–Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Life Sciences Pavilion — A diverse group of life scientists and two physician-scientists from Evanston Northwestern Healthcare occupy the $75 million facility, which opened in 2003.
- Chemistry of Life Processes Institute — This institute will be housed in a $95 million building, with groundbreaking slated for spring 2007; biologists, chemists and engineers will focus on stimulating basic scientific and practical progress in the prevention, detection and treatment of human disease.
Recent renovations and construction on the Chicago campus:
- Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center — The $200 million state-of-the-art research and teaching facility, which opened in 2005, brings basic and clinical researchers together to study cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, bionanotechnology, regenerative medicine and genetics.
- Renovations were recently completed to the Tarry Research and Education Building, Montgomery Ward Memorial Building, Morton Medical Research Building and Searle Medical Research Building and the McGaw Pavilion of the Health Sciences Building.
