The Northwestern Alumni Association celebrates its 80th year of honoring outstanding alumni.
The Standard Club in Chicago provided a historic backdrop to celebrate an Alumni Awards milestone on March 2, as the Northwestern Alumni Association honored outstanding alumni and friends for the 80th time. Big Ten Network football analyst and former Wildcats star Chris Martin (C96) hosted the ceremony, which recognized 23 individuals for their professional achievements and service to the University.
In recognition of their lifelong leadership and generosity to Northwestern, Life Trustee Patrick G. Ryan (EB59, H09) and Shirley Welsh Ryan (WCAS61) shared the Alumni Medal — the mark of highest distinction granted to a Northwestern alumnus or alumna. More than 300 alumni, family and friends attended the celebration, which included remarks by President Morton Schapiro and a performance by the Northwestern Cello Ensemble.
