Collaboration Fuels INVO’s Growth

Fiscal Year 2025

Innovation Impact Report

Northwestern University's innovation engine is accelerating, fueling a powerful wave of growth and commercialization.  FY2025 was a record-shattering year with 324 new invention disclosures—creating unprecedented momentum that is flowing directly into our commercialization pipeline. This surge is further strengthened by substantial growth across key metrics: 590 patent filings, 222 new patents issued, 337 executed agreements, and $12.3M in licensing revenue reinvested to fuel further research.

Startup creation, a critical driver of economic growth, is thriving.  We launched 9 new companies from university IP this year, contributing to a three-year total of 34 new ventures. These startups are successfully scaling, raising $186M in FY2025 alone and over $900M in the last three years. This demonstrates that foundational research is successfully transitioning from lab to market. We're strategically positioned to scale these innovations and drive the next wave of economic and societal impact.
