Grace E. Manson (1893-1967) earned a BA from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland in 1915 and a MA from Columbia University in 1919 and finally, a PhD from Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1923.

Dr. Manson served as an assistant professor at Northwestern from 1930-1945 and worked as the director of personnel research from 1939-1945. Dr. Manson conducted research on various business issues such as unemployment, occupational and vocational interests, and earnings at the Bureau of Business Research. Her published papers include: “Historical Perspectives in Industrial and Organizational Psychology”.
