Esther Seiden, PhD

Esther Seiden was a statistician from Poland. She studied mathematics at Stefan Batory University. She also completed a one year fellowship in mathematics at the University of Warsaw. After earning her Magistry of Philosophy, she taught first grade in Poland and later taught high school in Palestine before traveling to the U.S. She completed her PhD at the University of California, Berkeley in 1949.

In 1955 she became an assistant professor of mathematics at Northwestern University. Dr. Seiden served on faculty for five years and during which time she also traveled to the Indian Statistics Institute to teach as well.
