Erika Fromm, PhD
School of Medicine, 1954-1961

Erika Fromm was born in Frankfurt, Germany. Fromm and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1938 amidst growing political tensions in Europe. In 1954, Erika Fromm joined the faculty of the Medical School at Northwestern University. Fromm was primarily interested in psychoanalysis and hypnosis. In 1961, she left Northwestern for the University of Chicago.
