Elizabeth Wood

Elizabeth Wood graduated from Montclaire State College in 1932 with a bachelor’s degree in science and in 1937 with a master’s degree in guidance. In 1949, she earned another master’s in physical therapy from Northwestern University. She worked as a teacher at New Providence, New Jersey public school and South Orange Junior High School, then joined the U.S. Army during World War II to serve as a physical therapist. She returned to academia after her service and was promoted from lecturer at Northwestern to assistant professor in 1948 and continued her career teaching physical medicine until 1959.
