Medill Local News Initiative launches a new hub with a Robert R. McCormick Foundation grant

The Robert R. McCormick Foundation has awarded a $3.6 million, three-year grant to the Medill Local News Initiative at Northwestern to expand the University’s work to strengthen local news and scholastic journalism in Illinois.

Seven Northwestern professors named Sloan Research Fellows

The new Northwestern fellows are computer scientist Xiao Wang of the McCormick School of Engineering and chemists Linsey C. Seitz and Roel Tempelaar, economist Matthew Rognlie, mathematicians Rachel Greenfeld and Niall M. Mangan, and physicist Jason Wang of the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.
