Jacobs Center Renovation and Expansion
Project Status
Construction start: TBD
Completion: TBD
Project Description & Statistics
The Jacobs Center (located at 2001 Sheridan Rd in Evanston, IL) takes up over 340,000 GSF. It consists of Leverone Hall to the south and Andersen Hall to the west and north, which were initially built in 1972. In the mid-1990s, additions were built to connect Andersen and Leverone from the second to fifth floors, and to expand the sixth floor of Andersen. In 2001 a 75,000 GSF, six-story wing was added to the northeast of Andersen Hall to complete the “C” configuration of the complex. Other recent renovations include a multi-purpose atrium, and a student lounge/study area.
This project will be completed in multiple phases. Generally, the first phase will provide baseline code compliance for occupancy, provide a consolidated location for select building occupants, and possibly reactivate the classrooms, and auditorium. Phase 1 will be considered in the context of a long-term building and site strategy. The remaining phases will be more extensive, and include upgrades to building systems and services, and renovations to the majority of building spaces.
