Junior Achievement College & Career Day
In 2014, Northwestern students formed a student organization for Junior Achievement (JA). Connected to the parent organization JA Chicago, this group seeks to promote financial literacy and career development in today’s youth. Northwestern’s JA chapter volunteers at Evanston Township High School (ETHS) and District 65 elementary and middle schools bringing engaging workshops to students in classrooms.
Together with ETHS’ College and Career Center and our office, JA Northwestern hosts an annual College and Career Day. The event brings a diverse group of ETHS students to campus to engage in activities around career awareness, career clusters and soft-skills such as interviewing and resume writing. The Northwestern students include a tour of campus and college student panel to talk with students about choosing a college, selecting a major and financial aid options.
