Geometry in Construction
Evanston Township High School (ETHS) offers an interdisciplinary course in which students combine engineering, geometry and design to build a house each school year. Geometry in Construction is a collaboration between ETHS, the City of Evanston and community partners. Upon completion of the house, it is sold as affordable community housing in Evanston.
The Northwestern partnership supports Geometry in Construction through serving on the advisory board and connecting volunteers for the Community Build Days. Northwestern Athletics participates in an annual Day of Service, bringing athletics staff to the high school to help with construction.
