State of Illinois Vaccination Updates for Faculty and Staff

Dear faculty and staff,

The City of Evanston, City of Chicago and State of Illinois have announced changes to vaccine eligibility, and many details are still developing.

Here is the most current information for faculty and staff:

  • All faculty and staff on the Evanston campus are eligible to receive a vaccine starting Monday, March 22, according to the announcement from the governor today.
  • All faculty and staff living or working in Chicago are eligible to receive a vaccine starting Monday, March 29, according to the announcement from Chicago Department of Public Health.
  • All individuals in Illinois over the age of 16, outside of Chicago, are eligible to receive the vaccine starting April 12.

Northwestern will share a more comprehensive vaccination update next week that will include information about the University’s vaccination efforts and partnerships.

Meanwhile, we strongly encourage faculty and staff to get vaccinated wherever you are able. The State of Illinois website provides a list of vaccination locations, and the Northwestern website provides links to schedule appointments at a number of locations. The Cook County mass vaccination sites also are now open to most of the Northwestern community.

Each location determines the availability for their site. You can confirm your eligibility by indicating your status as a worker in higher education. Once an appointment is scheduled, you should bring your Wildcard to the vaccination location.

Please look for additional information regarding Northwestern’s vaccination efforts and partnerships next week.
