What is Privacy?

Privacy, in the context of personal data, refers to the belief that individuals should be empowered to exercise some control over how their personal information is collected, used, and shared. Personal data includes any information that can identify an individual, such as names, contact details, identification numbers, and online identifiers. In keeping with the University Compliance Office’s Mission and Values, especially with respect to Trust and Integrity, we strive to build and maintain transparent and collegial relationships with our community members. We are committed to promoting honest and ethical behavior in all aspects of data handling, encouraging full participation in compliance with applicable policies, laws, and standards.
