My name is Dave Davis, and as the Executive Director of Neighborhood and Community Relations, I serve as the University’s primary liaison to the Evanston community. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, my role is to be a key strategic advisor to senior leadership and create opportunities for the University to build strong, supportive partnerships with Evanston residents, community organizations, schools, civic and business groups, and local government.

One of the best things about my role is the opportunity to meet so many great members of the Evanston community. From strategizing with local business leaders about how to leverage Northwestern’s economic impact to engaging with those that run the incredible nonprofits in our community, I enjoy being the liaison between Northwestern University and Evanston. By helping to connect people and organizations to the variety of resources provided by the University, we create a stronger, more unified community that benefits all of its members.

I look forward to hearing from you and learning how Neighborhood and Community Relations can best assist you or your organization.

My name is EL Da’ Sheon Nix and I serve as the Director of Evanston Community Relations here in the Office of Neighborhood and Community Relations. I’m a Northwestern University alum (SESP ’04), that started my professional career in Evanston, IL. I spent time at the Rice Child and Family Center, Y.O.U. and at the Evanston Community Defender Office.

As my career in the non-profit and community engagement sectors progressed, I’ve worked with youth, families, and communities facing economic and social barriers throughout the Chicagoland area. I bring over 18 years of professional experience into Northwestern and the city of Evanston, in my Director of Evanston Community Relations role.

I’m extremely excited and looking forward to continuing to build and sustain positive relationships between the university and the Evanston community, connecting people to essential resources, and positively impacting the quality of life across this collective community.
