Purchase Orders

  • The iBuyNU marketplace is a web-based ordering tool that provides Northwestern with the most streamlined, cost effective way to order from Preferred Vendors. Items can be purchased through the iBuyNU system. If possible, please utilize iBuy for your purchasing needs. However, other vendors may be used.
    • We recommend using iBuy for items purchased through Amazon, rather than using your personal Amazon account.  Please reference the iBuy Amazon Guidefor assistance when purchasing through Amazon. The Benefits of using iBuy for Amazon purchases include:
      • You are not required to use a personal card - this is charged directly to your budget.
      • Sales tax is not included on orders (saves time from filling out exception forms, and saves money for your budget by not including taxes).
      • Items are shipped directly to your place of work.
      • iBuy has prime - there is still expedited shipping on prime orders.
  • In order to request goods or services from a company, both pages of the purchase order form must be filled out completely. Please send a copy of a quote or statement from the company and the PO FORMto bizoffice@northwestern.edu.
  • If a company receives a purchase order it does not necessarily mean that the company will be paid. After the order is received, please send a receipt of the ordered items and a copy of the invoice signed "OK to pay" must be turned in to bizoffice@northwestern.edu for payment to be issued to the company.
