Members
Apply to Join the ACIR
We are currently seeking applications from students for the current academic year. Two student members will be selected and they will serve a one-year term. The application portal is linked below, and applications will be accepted until December 19, 2025.
Non-student members are appointed to serve a three-year term. At this time there are no current openings for non-student members.
All members of the Northwestern community are eligible to apply to become a member of the ACIR.
The CIO, in consultation with the Provost, leadership of Faculty Senate, NUSAC, the Alumni Association, the Vice President for Alumni Relations and Development, the Vice President for Student Affairs, as well as other leaders in the Northwestern Community, recommends a slate of members to the President of the University for approval.
Ideal candidates for membership will possess an interest in and appreciation for the complex role of the endowment in supporting the University's finances and will be willing to serve as independent evaluators of complex issues. Members must recuse themselves from decisions in which they may have a conflict (such as employment or research support by and industry in question, or a leadership role in an advocacy or other affinity group that may be impacted by the proposed actions). Training for all members will be provided by the CIO.
