Exchange Programs

Reciprocal educational exchange programs allowing Northwestern students to study at a partner institution and vice versa. These programs demand a high level of independence, responsibility, and integration into the host institution, and include enrolling in courses with local students. Students can seek support from GLO and the partner institution if they need guidance. Students become part of an exchange community and may participate in welcoming exchange students to the Northwestern campus upon their return. Students receive transfer credits.

Exchange partner institutions are chosen because they offer similar access to academically rigorous courses, research opportunities, and world-class faculty to those that are available at Northwestern. They have been vetted and approved by the faculty-led University Study Abroad Committee (USAC) and the Office of Global Safety and Security (OGSS) and are deemed to meet Northwestern standards.
