Become a GLO Ambassador or Fellow!

GLO Ambassadors serve as official volunteer representatives of the GLO office and advocate for study abroad within the Northwestern undergraduate community.

In addition to the unpaid ambassador position, GLO offers paid leadership positions to study abroad alumni who are passionate advocates for study abroad within the Northwestern undergraduate community. GLO Fellows focus on specific initiatives, while also assisting with the leadership of the ambassador program.

GLO Ambassador Program

Join a community of study abroad alumni and act as a mentor/adviser to prospective and outbound study abroad students. Gain valuable experience through activities such as event planning, public speaking and presentation delivery. Assist GLO in evaluation and improvement of programs.

"As a GLO Ambassador, I reached out to seminars, language courses, and participated in panels about studying abroad. Now that the school year is ending and decisions have been finalized, I have seen some students I spoke with chose to study abroad in the same program I once attended and being able to play even a small role in someone else's journey has been far more meaningful that I expected."

-Anonymous ‘28, Berlin: German City, Global Perspectives

"After studying abroad, becoming a GLO Ambassador has been such a fun way to share my experience with others. I have had several students from Northwestern reach out about my program, and it makes me so happy to help answer any questions they have while also encouraging them to participate. Studying abroad was so formative for me academically and personally, and I love connecting with students who are planning to embark on a similar journey."

-Mila Brandson ‘27, University of Minnesota Study Abroad in Montpellier
