Study Abroad Photo Contest

Submission Deadlines:

• Study Abroad during Summer (on NU Summer Programs): September 9
  
• Study Abroad during Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer (on Non-NU Summer Programs): October 15
  

Photo Submissions

1. Name Your Photos

• Change the actual file name (from IMG_1234 or DSC001234, etc.), and name each of your submissions “Yourlastname1,” “Yourlastname2,” etc.
• Each entry should be accompanied by a short explanation (1-2 sentences) of the photo’s subject matter, including when and where the photo was taken, and any other relevant information. You may also include a title for the photo.

2. Email Your Photos

• Send high resolution photos to studyabroad@northwestern.edu.
  Northwestern email servers cannot handle large messages, so you may need to send your photos in separate emails.
• You may submit up to five photos to be considered. Black and white or color photos are welcome.
• Include the following information:
  • Name, school, major, & phone number
  • Study abroad program, country, and term

3. Winners

Winning photos are taken by Northwestern students abroad, preferably in the countries where they studied abroad.

• The Study Abroad Office will select finalists, and winners will be selected by your peers at the fall Study Abroad Fair.
• First place winner will receive a $25 Amazon gift certificate.
• Second place winner will receive a $20 Amazon gift certificate.
• Third place winner will receive a $15 Amazon gift certificate.

By submitting your photo(s) to the Photo Contest, you grant the Study Abroad Office permission to display your photos in our our office, in our publications, and on our website.
