The University of Chicago's Toledo Program is ideal for students who want to study Spanish intensively in a completely Spanish-speaking environment. Instruction in the Toledo Program is geared towards the intermediate level; students live with local families, receive daily Spanish language instruction by the staff of the Fundacion José Ortega y Gasset, and observe a no-English rule.

To apply, Northwestern students must:

Language Requirements: 

1 year* (completion of Spanish 101-3 or 115-2) or the equivalent of college-level Spanish.

*Students who have taken higher than SPAN 115-2 are ineligible for this program
