The Advanced Russian Language & Area Studies program provides approximately 20 hours per week of in-class instruction in Russian grammar, phonetics, conversation, and cultural studies at either: Moscow International University, Russian State Pedagogical University (Gertsen Institute) in St. Petersburg, or KORA Center for Russian Language Study in Vladimir. One day per week of the academic program is set aside for local cultural excursions.

Admission Info:

To apply, Northwestern students must

1. Complete a Northwestern Study Abroad Application by the appropriate deadline

2. Complete an ACTR application by the program's deadline

Languages: Russian

Language Requirements: 

2 years or the equivalent of college-level Russian


Homestays (2 meals/day) or university dormitories (self-catered)
