Japan Study at Waseda University

Students attend classes at Waseda University’s School of International Liberal Studies, which include intensive Japanese language instruction and content courses across the curriculum taught in English. A one-month Cultural Internship opportunity is available in which students partake in a cultural or volunteer experience with local institutions in a rural or urban locations throughout Japan.

Term Notes: Earlham College's application deadline is in January for all options (Full-Year, Fall/Winter, Winter/Spring). If participating in the Fall/Winter (fall semester + cultural internship) program, compare the program's calendar with NU's academic calendar and, if necessary, contact the Japan Study office at Earlham College to verify that it will be possible to return to NU prior to the start of Spring quarter.
To apply, Northwestern students must:
- Complete an NU Study Abroad Application by December 15.
- Complete Earlham College's Japan Study application by the program's January deadline.
