Description: 

Through SIT courses and an independent study project, students examine Senegal's important contribution to African arts and culture through a focus on the visual and performing arts. Students can participate in drumming, dance, and theatre classes, as well as study Senegalese religion, history, life, and art.

Admission Info:
To apply, Northwestern students must: 

  1. Complete an NU Study Abroad Application by the appropriate deadline
  2. Complete an SIT application by the program's deadline

Languages: French, Wolof, English

Language Requirements: 

1.5 years or the equivalent of college-level French, completing at least FR 121-2 OR FR 125-2.
