Northwestern in San Francisco

A variety of Northwestern schools and programs host opportunities in San Francisco that include short-term classes, quarter-long residencies, short immersion experiences and alumni and partner events.

Located at 44 Montgomery Street in San Francisco’s Financial District, the roughly 16,000-square-foot space includes a broadcast studio, a design lab, classrooms, presentation areas and small-group work rooms.

The space features a state-of-the-art presentation area to engage with alumni and partners in the Bay Area, collaborative classrooms and a flexible design studio. It is used for quarter-long residencies, short immersion experiences and events for alumni and collaborators.

In addition to courses, the San Francisco space is used for:

  • Speakers and lectures
  • Workshops and conferences
  • Alumni meetings and events

The Office of the Provost prioritizes programs that specifically advance the mission of the sponsoring unit or department or more generally align with the University’s mission. In addition, priority is given to programs geared toward current Northwestern students.
