North Campus Infrastructure

Construction start: May 2013
Completion: August 2014

A variety of much needed work to upgrade and renew the 100-year-old infrastructure along the north campus pedestrian corridor, from Tech Drive to Lincoln Avenue, will take place.

The scope of work includes structural renovations of the steam tunnel that serves as the utility corridor for the North campus residential campus buildings and Patten Gym. The utilities in the tunnel include steam distribution, fire protection loop, and the original electrical feeder.

Work will continue into summer 2014 to relocate and replace the electrical feed outside the steam tunnel. The outcome of the project will be more reliable heating and electrical service. Minimal work as possible will be done while students are on campus.
