Overview of class
This course is designed to provide a strong background for students who pursue nearly any specialty within neuroscience. The focus of the course is on molecular, cellular and systems neuroscience.Registration Requirements
BIOL SCI 210-3, PHYSICS 130-2 or 135-2.Teaching Method
Lectures and homework assignments, including computer simulations and either a term paper or a research presentation. The research presentation option includes a series of tutorials designed to explore the scientific method within the context of the course. Students not enrolling in this section are required to write a term paper instead.Evaluation Method
Evaluation for class is one midterm exam, one final, two problem sets, and either one term paper or one research presentation. Tests are designed to encourage integration and application of knowledge.Class Materials (Required)
