Participant Expectations

To ensure that all group members have a good AMP experience, we ask that participants:

• Attend all regularly scheduled group sessions (one excused absence is permitted)
• Notify the Academic Mentor via email in advance of any absence
• Prepare for each group session in the following manner:
  • Attend all lectures and discussion sections
  • Complete all assigned readings
  • Attempt all assigned homework problems
  • Generate questions to ask during session
• Participate in each group session in a constructive manner:
  • Participate actively, and help ensure others are able to do so
  • Listen actively (focus on others' comments and questions, clarify when you do not understand, etc.)
  • Offer help when needed
  • Be encouraging
  • Respect differences in students' levels of understanding of course concepts

Continued enrollment in the AMP program is contingent on students' adhering to these expectations.
