Facilities Connect Go Live

We are pleased to announce the final two modules of the Facilities Connect platform are now fully implemented: Operations & Maintenance (O&M), which replaces and improves the existing FAMIS work order management system, and the Project Management module, which has been live for more than a year and now officially replaces the Projecto system. These two modules, along with the Space module, form a single, integrated web-based platform that will simplify and streamline access to Facilities information and services, and enhance service delivery. Please note that a similar announcement to impacted stakeholders in schools and units will be sent later today.

What is changing and how it improves our work

The O&M module enables a cohesive network of Facilities information that creates a means of communication for all parties involved. It allows better management of programs, including corrective and preventive maintenance, and University asset management. Users will gain new ways to submit and track work requests and have greater transparency to requests and related status.

The Project Management module enables greater transparency of our projects, more collaboration, standardized processes, and simplified access to financial information. It also centralizes the budget and schedule management of projects into a single platform.

Next Steps

If you have questions, please contact the Facilities Connect team at facilitiesconnect@northwestern.edu.

Systems support is provided by the Northwestern IT Support Center at 847-491-4357 (1-HELP) or consultant@northwestern.edu.

The release of these last two components of Facilities Connect is an important milestone for Facilities and the University. We now have the foundation to improve teamwork within Facilities as well as to improve the quality of service to our customers. We would not have reached this point without the help of numerous people in our department and within Northwestern IT.

Thank you for your continued support of this critical project and for your patience as we introduce a new enterprise system to the campus community.

Sincerely,

Alex Darragh
Vice President, Facilities
