Angela joined Northwestern University in July 2013 and serves as the Director of Health Promotion and Wellness. She is responsible for providing alcohol and other drug (AOD)-related prevention programming, training and education to students, staff and faculty, including overseeing the BASICS program. Angela has a Masters in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has both professional and volunteer experience in health promotion and education with the Chicago Women’s AIDS Project and the Chicago Women’s Health Center, and is committed the philosophy of harm reduction.

Angela previously worked as a counselor at Loyola University Chicago’s Wellness Center. After several years as a couple and family therapist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, she is happy to be back in higher education. Her two young sports-obsessed sons are happy she works at a Big Ten school.
