Intergenerational Justice in a Post-Pandemic WorldÂ
The 2020 U7+ Presidential Summit centered on the role higher education institutions can play in fostering intergenerational justice—ensuring solutions to global challenges are developed in a way that takes the interests and rights of youth and future generations into account. University leaders discussed how they could work in coordination with the G7 and other intergovernmental organizations as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic disproportionately impacts the futures and hopes of youth worldwide. The Summit also included youth voices from around the world sharing their visions for the future of higher education, and culminated in university presidents worldwide committing to create new opportunities for mutual understanding and equitable resource sharing across generations.
