Location: Doha, Qatar


The Journalism Residency Qatar program provides a unique and exciting opportunity for Medill students to live and work in the Middle East for 11 weeks while earning 4 Northwestern credits through a set curriculum and completing degree requirements. Placements are limited in number, and are available in newspaper/online and broadcast/video only. Students have access to Medill resources at Northwestern University in Qatar campus, which includes invitation to student events, Wildcard access to facilities, and more.

Open to Medill BSJ students, in their junior or senior year, who have completed a substantive internship with a reputable media organization, communications firm, or related industry before their Journalism Residency placement. Students must also take a course at Northwestern in Middle Eastern language, history, economics, or political science during the Fall Quarter immediately prior to their JR.
