The Contemporary India program introduces students to some of the most dynamic areas of Indian society, politics, economics, and culture today, such as development economics, gender and media studies, social justice and public health. By providing a core academic base and allowing progressive specialization through electives, culminating in an internship, directed research project, or documentary film of the student's own choosing, the Alliance's Contemporary India program takes an interdisciplinary yet focused approach to these timely and provocative issues, both as they apply to India and in their global context.
