Your open, honest feedback is essential to helping Northwestern’s leaders identify what you value about working at Northwestern, as well as areas in which the University could improve. To ensure the confidentiality of your feedback, Northwestern is collaborating with an experienced external firm, Aon Hewitt, which will administer the 2017 Staff Survey, collect the responses, and report on the results.
Specific procedures are implemented to ensure the confidentiality of individual responses:
- No member of management or any other staff at Northwestern will have access to data that identifies specific staff members.
- Individual responses will be aggregated with all the other survey responses that are received, and the combined data will be reported at the organization and University-wide levels.
- Only managers with seven or more staff respondents will receive a report.
During the open survey period, Aon Hewitt will monitor which participants have or have not responded to the survey and will send reminder emails. Northwestern will have no direct access to this information, only to the results. Aon Hewitt will provide Northwestern with the overall completion rate. The survey will provide two open-ended comment sections. The answers will be provided to Northwestern University leadership in summary form, organized by key themes and trends that are highlighted in the responses. However, staff should not include their names or any other identifiable information within the open-ended comment boxes.
