The University has identified four key priorities after thoroughly analyzing collective survey data and holding meaningful conversations with stakeholders across the University. School and unit leaders, as well as several groups that represent staff interests, such as NUSAC and the Diversity Leaders Group, provided insight that clarified these areas of focus.

Northwestern cross-University priorities include: 

  • Diversity, Inclusion & Equity: Create a more inclusive experience for all our staff
  • Career Development: Empower our people to grow their careers
  • Leadership Communication: Communicate with greater regularity, clarity, and meaning to and with our staff
  • Work Tasks: Make it easier for our staff in their day-to-day work tasks

 Cross-University work groups have been mobilized to dive deeper into each opportunity area and recommend solutions. These four teams are comprised of staff from across the University and were nominated by their school and unit leadership. Each team is spending the summer exploring their opportunity area with the end goal of developing recommendations that improve the staff experience across Northwestern.
