We provide a variety of opportunities for faculty to reflect critically on learning and teaching.
Both our yearlong programs and short, dynamic discussions and workshops address topics like:
- Creating courses that engage students;
- Integrating technology into teaching;
- Assessing student learning outcomes.
Learn more about our programs:

The program will equip participants with skills, strategies, tools, and knowledge to translate and reconceptualize the in-class experience into an online learning environment.
- A Seat at the Table: Centering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Learning and Teaching: This series will bring together a faculty cohort to discuss topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in teaching and learning (e.g., facilitating difficult dialogues).
- Faculty Open Classroom Initiative (FOCI): FOCI is a week-long program to promote open conversation about learning and teaching across Northwestern.
- Inclusive Teaching Forum: Annual event to bring faculty, staff, and students together to share narratives and experiences, and create an opportunity to promote intergroup/community dialogue around inclusive learning and teaching at Northwestern.
