Faculty Initiatives Associate
Muveddet Harris works as a Faculty Initiatives Associate supporting faculty initiatives, research projects, and program assessment at the Searle Center. In addition, she manages the Small Group Analysis (SGAs), End-of-Term focus groups and supervises the Teaching Consultants. Muveddet holds an M.S. degree in Medical Informatics and a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in anthropology/archeology with a concentration in Japanese language and culture from Northwestern University. She has also done post-baccalaureate studies in biological sciences at Northwestern. She has experience with online and campus teaching settings in the Master’s Program in Medical Informatics at Northwestern University since 2007. Her teaching experience involved teaching students from various professional backgrounds, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and IT specialists.
Prior to joining the Searle Center, she worked as a Research Project Coordinator in swallow physiology at Northwestern where she managed all lab activities, supervised and trained the laboratory staff and graduate students over 13 years. While working at the Swallow Lab, she also co-authored several publications. As of October 2016, Muveddet began her doctoral studies in Higher Education: Research, Evaluation and Enhancement in conjunction with her role at the Faculty Initiatives.
