Students
The Qatar Support Office (QSO) supports Northwestern Qatar and Evanston students traveling between the two campuses. We partner with Evanston schools and departments to provide support to and programming for students during their time in Evanston.
Comm Exchange
The Qatar Support Office supports NU-Q students who participate in the Comm Exchange on Northwestern’s Evanston campus during the winter and spring quarters (January-June).
Evanston Ambassador Experience Trip
Each year, eligible NU-Q sophomores can apply to the ambassador program. Students accepted to the ambassador program are eligible to participate in the May trip to Evanston and Chicago, which follows the conclusion of the NU-Q academic year. The Qatar Support Office programs the week-long visit to Evanston and Chicago, which familiarizes students with campus life in Evanston and cultural offerings in Chicago.
Engage Chicago
Engage Chicago is an eight-week summer field study program that offers students an opportunity to live, learn, and serve in Chicago. Students participate in an internship at a Chicago non-profit organization, complete academic coursework, and experience the diverse and vibrant neighborhoods of Chicago. NU-Q students are invited to apply.
Northwestern University Commencement
NU-Q graduating seniors are invited to participate in the June commencement activities on the Evanston campus alongside their fellow Northwestern graduates.
NU-Q in unable to sponsor student travel to Evanston for graduation activities, but students interested in participating should contact the QSO. The QSO will facilitate the student’s inclusion in the relevant school’s convocation program. The QSO serves as a resource for graduation events, local accommodations, etc. The QSO will sponsor programming and/or events when possible.
