Jennah Thompson-Vasquez

Jennah Thompson-Vasquez is a junior in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences from Sacramento, California majoring in Anthropology and Latino/Latina Studies. Her academic interests include human variation, metabolism, inequality, and race/ethnicity. Jennah became attracted to these topics due to her experiences conducting research as a Posner Fellow at Northwestern University. Through Mellon Mays, Jennah would like to pursue research involving Bolivians living in their home country and the United States and how the health of these groups has been affected by Western influence. In the past, Jennah has been able to present her research at the Human Biology Association and American Association of Physical Anthropologist’s Annual Meetings and has been the recipient of the Undergraduate Research Assistant Program award. She has also been involved with Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) where she has helped facilitate workshops on college access and worked with high school students organizing a Latinx Summit for their peers.
