This informational page includes Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and resources for students with disabilities that will help you transition to living off-campus. Two major parts are Transportation and Off-Campus Housing. Additionally, introductions and contact information of some local and non-profit community resources are provided.
Please contact AccessibleNU at 847-467-5530 or accessiblenu@northwestern.edu and Off-Campus Life at 847-491-8430 or offcampuslife@northwestern.edu if you have any questions about the resources.
AccessibleNU (ANU) is responsible for the academic and on-campus housing accommodation process for students with disabilities. ANU aims to identify educational barriers, problem solve to create equitable learning and living environments, communicate referral options for disability evaluation and assistance, and establish best practices for disability inclusion. ANU supports and empowers students with disabilities by collaborating with the Northwestern community to ensure equal access to fully participate in their academic learning and living environments.
The Office of Off-Campus Life (OCL) serves as the first point of contact for students moving and living off-campus. We have multiple stakeholders with whom we communicate, coordinate, and refer around issues regarding students’ rights, responsibilities, and resources.
