The T-Rex has been extinct for 65 million years, but in this class, you can resurrect him (or create any other of your favorite animals) and learn to turn them into a planter! Join me for this fun one and done online remote course where we make your favorite animal and find clever ways to turn them into planters for succulents and/or air plants.

Spring Teapots

This workshop will teach decorative glaze techniques and focus on floral patterns. The instructor will also provide a brief history of teapots. Each student will receive an English-style teapot to decorate.

Introduction to Knitting

In this course, students will learn the basic knit and purl stitches, along with how to start (cast on) and finish (bind off) a project. Students will be introduced to online resources and patterns to help expand their knitting knowledge and will come away with all of the skills to make a simple dishcloth, hat, or scarf.

Handcrafting a Mug

In this one-session course, you will learn the basic techniques for designing and making your very own ceramic mug using slabs. You can customize your mug with sculptural elements, like adding animal ears or a funky handle. You will become familiar with the foundations of working with clay, the firing, and glazing process. Your creation will be fired and glazed in our studio and will be safe for eating and drinking!

Intermediate Knitting

Saturday, May 15

Students will learn how to cable (make intertwining twists and braids) using a cable needle. Additionally, students will learn how to perform colorwork (or intarsia) using multiple strands of yarn alternating across a row. These two skills will prepare students to knit a variety of intermediate-level projects with complex design elements, such as hats, cowls, and mittens.

*Supplies provided: 1 cable needle, two different colors of yarn

Handbuilding Extravaganza

This course is for all those who are curious about working with clay. You will create your own designs for tableware, jewelry, or home décor. You will learn a variety of techniques, tricks and methods creating clay objects.

Ceramic Miniatures

Thursdays, April 22 - May 13 (4 Session)

Students will learn how to make simple figurine forms, then decorate with attachments and surface techniques. Students are encouraged to purchase a small plastic container with a lid to place objects in.

This is the class to learn a variety of sculptural techniques, then use the technique that serves you best. The class will have an emphasis on using surface techniques to add texture and life to your pieces. You can also glaze your own work using engobes, a colored glaze that can be applied on your leather hard clay before firing.
