Olszewski Named HSBC Research Professor

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Wojciech Olszewski, professor of economics in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been named the HSBC Research Professor in Economics.

Olszewski studies several areas within economic theory. His breadth of interests covers repeated games with imperfect private monitoring and testing probabilistic models. He has contributed to the literature on decision theory, mechanism design and collective bargaining, communication and matching.

Olszewski has published dozens of papers, including papers in journals such as the American Economic Review, Annals of Statistics, Econometrica, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies and Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

Among numerous honors, Olszewski received a Sloan Foundation Research Fellowship and a National Science Foundation CAREER Award. He is an associate editor of the academic journals Econometrica and Theoretical Economics.

Olszewski, who has presented at numerous seminars, workshops and conferences, joined the Northwestern faculty in 2001.
