EVANSTON, Ill. --- As protests over the outcome of the Iranian presidential election wind down, video of the death of the young protester Neda has been widely viewed on the Internet and in other media. Robert Hariman, professor of communication studies at Northwestern University and co-author of the book “No Caption Needed: Iconic Photographs, Public Culture, and Liberal Democracy,” discusses the video and why it has resonated with so many.
