New Back-Up Childcare Center Now Open

September 18, 2007

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Northwestern University faculty, staff and students have access to back-up care at a new childcare center that opened Monday (Sept. 17) in Glenview.

Northwestern families currently have access to back-up care at 10 KinderCare locations throughout Chicago. KinderCare's parent company, Knowledge Learning Corporation, has added the new Glenview Knowledge Beginnings center to the list of designated Northwestern sites.

This as-available service is designed to help Northwestern families when childcare arrangements are disrupted, such as when the regular provider is ill or on vacation. Each family has access to the back-up care for up to 20 days per year.

KinderCare Learning centers provide childcare services that promote learning and development by using age-appropriate Playscapes, classrooms and educational toys.

The new center is located in The Glen development, 2401 Compass Road in Glenview.
