Musical Resonance: Bryce and Maris O’Tierney

“It’s the threading of voices. Our music is not binary in terms of personality. I see it more as a fit, where you have a strong braid of sound. We’re twins, so we really vibe off each other. … We’re not just seeking to be auto-tuned perfect recording artists. We’re looking to create real connections with people.” — Maris O’Tierney

Bryce Quinn and Maris Maeve O’Tierney, twin sisters from Anchorage, Alaska, perform as maeve and quinn. Their song “fusion” was selected as this year’s Niteskool Music Video (see “After Hours Education”). After graduation, Bryce, a creative writing (poetry) and violin studies double major, plans to pursue a master’s in creative writing at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Maris, a vocal performance, art history and political science major, will work at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage in Washington, D.C., as one of the selected interns for the Katzenberger Art History Internship Program.
