Thirteen teams whipped up tortillas, seared tuna and a selection of delightful desserts at Dance Marathon’s annual Top Chef fundraiser. One of the largest fundraising events hosted by NUDM, Top Chef brought together members from the two beneficiaries, the Children’s Heart Foundation and Evanston Community Foundation, and Northwestern for a lighthearted battle at Now We’re Cookin’ on Payne Street in west Evanston. Featuring the secret ingredient, citrus, teams presented rounds of appetizers, entrees and desserts that were judged for flavor and creativity. Judges included Associated Student Government president Claire Lew and Wildcat quarterback Dan Persa. With more than 900 dancers, a new record, the 37th annual Dance Marathon netted a record $1,019,130 in total gifts and donations. This is the first time the event has topped $1 million.
