Community Engagement Coalition

The Community Engagement Coalition promotes undergraduate leadership at Northwestern by convening and supporting student-led organizations committed to local civic engagement and community service. The Coalition will provide a collaborative space for confronting local social justice issues through student group collaboration in partnership with the local community.

Community Engagement Coalition student groups commit to send a contingency of 3 student leaders from their leadership team to participate in 2 meetings per quarter.  Coalition meeting focus on networking, exploring issues of ethical engagement, hearing from local community leaders and discussing programming collaborations and community concerns.

The Community Engagement Coalition meetings for 2019-2020 academic year will be held from 5-6:30pm on the following Tuesdays:

  • October 8
  • December 3
  • January 14
  • March 10
  • April 7
  • May 19

Student organizations recognized as Coalition members gain access to a special grant fund to further their group's vision and receive priority in regards to campus resources offered by the Leadership Development and Community Engagement Office (i.e. community service vans, invitations to dinners with campus speakers, access to local social justice education events and trainings).
