"Islam in Global Africa: African Muslims in the World, Muslim Worlds in Africa" took place at Northwestern from April 23-24, 2018. It brought together over a dozen scholars from Africa, Europe, and the US to explore the multiple dimensions of Islam in global Africa and how being African and Muslim is negotiated at the intersection of local, regional, and global narratives, perceptions, and exchanges.
